Wishy-Washy

Wishy-washy.

Do you know that term? It means going back and forth with decisions. One minute you decide to do this, the next you’ve changed your mind and decided to do that. Then back to the first one. . . you get the picture.

That has been me lately. Well, my hubby and I. A major, major decision has been lurking on the horizon for a few months. We thought we’d made up our minds, and then the old monkey wrench (an appealing situation) is thrown in. For good measure? Who knows.

We decided one way, then the other. This has happened no less than three times. Currently, we find ourselves caught between the two decisions. Neither one is bad. They are just different.

HOW ABOUT YOU?

Have you ever been there? Where decisions need to be made and you can’t make up your mind?

Wishy-washy.

GOOD NEWS

The good news is, we know we can count on the One who is Good News. When we go to God in prayer, we know we can count on Him to guide us in our decisions. He will either open or close doors. It’s the open doors about which we must decide.

Last night, we decided one door, even though it was so appealing, needed to remain closed. Either today or tomorrow, we will decide about yet another. It will have a sign that says, open, or one that says closed.

Either way, we know we will be okay because our lives and well-being are in His hands every single moment of every day. I think they say that 365 these days.

LISTEN FOR THE STILL SMALL VOICE

Wherever you are today in decision-making. I pray that you listen to that still small voice. Ask God about the plans He has for you. That goes back to Jeremiah 29:11 again. I must use that Scripture more than any other, especially when our boys come to us for advice.

Lean on Him. Listen for the peace that comes from the Holy Spirit and you cannot go wrong.

Blessings, y’all.

I didn’t know this song or this young man. May it bless you, especially if you are amid difficult decisions.

Wishy-washy sums up my life. Sometimes my decisions are just made for me, because God knows I’m incapable… ha ha.

Great post, Debbie. I’m thankful for God’s guidance, and the fact He gives me the ability to wait until He makes things clear to me. 🙂

Decisions, doubts and discernment. Three D’s it is good to look to the Lord for help with!

  4. Tim Richards says:

Some decisions are simply tough decisions. Staying in constant contact with the Lord, which I know ya’ll do, gives peace about the process. Hang in there.
