Blessings In the Christian Writing World

One of the blessings of having so many friends who are writers is getting to read their blogs or their social media posts. How I wish I could read every post I see but y’all know that’s impossible. When would we ever find time to write?

I love having five minutes here or ten minutes there to take a break and read some of your social media posts. Many of you link your blogs there and, I don’t know about you, but that makes things easier for me.

BLESSINGS ABOUND

It seems that no matter when I log in, I always find something spiritually uplifting. And it doesn’t have to be a link to your current blog post, it could be something as simple as a meme with a scripture verse on it, or even some cute picture of your pup or kitty, maybe your newest baby or grand. Perhaps you make a brief comment about your thoughts on that.

My point is, God has put all these people in my, in our paths, and on any given day, because they are all Christians, we receive blessings daily from one or more of them.

When I first walked into the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference back in 2014, I couldn’t imagine all the things God had in store for me. Doors opened that I didn’t know existed. Writers whose works I’d read for years, were suddenly friends. And a published book with my name on it? Never in my wildest of hopes or dreams. And at age seventy, also! Now y’all, that can only be God.

YEP, THAT WAS GOD

To this day, I’m still astounded by the people with whom I get to spend so much time. From whom I’ve learned year in and year out, about this craft. With whom I’ve shared joys and sorrows. Who’ve been there in my darkest days and on my most joyous ones, too. People I didn’t know a few years ago, but who now pray for me and my family, and I, in turn, pray for them.

Again, only God.

That’s the thing about this Christian writing world. We understand that we are, indeed, all children of the Most-High King. Y’all! That makes us brothers and sisters in Christ. I love that so much. In our writing world, there is no barrier of race,  creed, or anything man says we should have. We simply love one another, unconditionally. We all know that Father God is Abba to every single one of us. And we are family.

GO, BE A BLESSING

Whoever you are and wherever you may be, know that if I saw your posts on social media, I sent up a prayer for you today. It may not have been profound, but I certainly prayed for God to look upon you with favor, to pour out blessings upon you and your family, and that the works of your hands and hearts would go exactly where He wants them to go to be a blessing to those in need of the words only you could write.

So, thank you for being a blessing to me, even though we may have never met. You are still my sister or brother in Christ and I’m sending love and prayers to you this day and every day. Keep writing, my friends. You never know who will be blessed by your work, even a simple meme.

Blessings, y’all!

A beautiful setting of the Aaronic Blessing. I pray this will be a blessing to you today, from this writer’s heart.
