A Great Resource for Christian Bloggers

When we enter the world of Christian writing, we have to make decisions about what we feel God has called us to write. One question is, what is my message? Another is who is my audience? And yet another would be, how do I reach the maximum number of people?

These aren’t easily answered. All the authors I know have spent, or are spending, a great deal of time trying to figure this out. A non-fiction author may have, and likely does have, a different agenda from a fiction author.

CHRISTIAN BLOGGERS

Most of us have blogs of one kind or another. Those blogs should be focused and not all over the place. I’ll admit, I’ve struggled with this since I first began my blog back in 2014 or so. My blog has evolved over the years to the point that I’m considering changing its name from Relatively Southern. It doesn’t reflect what I write about in my blog. It suits my fiction, but not my blog.

This post is primarily for my Christian author friends but stay and see if you can apply any of this to your life.

LEEANN FOX – KINGDOM BLOGGERS

While searching for something via Google this past week, I ran across a lovely lady, LeeAnn Fox, who has a blog called Kingdom Bloggers. Her site is amazing and is available for all Christian authors. Her goal is to get the love of Jesus to as many parts of the world and to as many people as possible.

She has resources and offers courses at very reasonable prices to help you get more traffic to your blog. I can tell you, I’ve been at this for a while, and though I’m faithful, I don’t have that many subscribers. The main reason for that isn’t so much my content, or I pray it isn’t, but the fact that I simply do not understand SEO or, Search Engine Optimization. Sounds daunting just to speak it aloud.

LEARN SEO – GET MORE TRAFFIC

This week, I registered for LeeAnn’s course on SEO, very reasonably priced. I was blown away by all the information just within the first two sessions. She has links to all manner of things inside the class so that you’re getting not just her SEO class, but other helpful info. Now, some things you must pay additional money for, but most are extremely reasonable, and some are free downloads.

Just in those first two to three parts of the course, I have written so many notes and have come away with my mind reeling. I can see many things I’ve done wrong since the inception of my blog and mistakes I’m still making, seven years later.

GROW YOUR BLOG AUDIENCE – REACH THE WORLD

I’m confident that this course will be a game-changer for me and my blog traffic. The testimonies of people who have applied her principles are mind-boggling. This stuff is so good, I couldn’t not share it with you. If you are struggling with what to write about, what your focus should be, or anything blog-related, Kingdom Bloggers is for you.

The take-away here is, don’t be afraid to start over if you’ve taken a wrong turn. Find help. Go to an expert in what it is you need.

Remember to pray about everything, especially the words you share with the world. As Christians, we are called to spread the Good News to the world. Our blog is one way to accomplish that. Our words matter. As one of my friends says, our words could change someone’s eternity. And that, my friends, is why we do what we do.

Blessings, y’all!

I couldn’t find a song about blogging. Maybe someone needs to write one. We love this group of young men. One of them (second from right) is from Alabama, but they all went to school at Mobile College. This is an all-time favorite. I pray it blesses you in whatever you do today. It doesn’t get much better than the prayer our Savior used to teach us how to pray. If I can pray for you today, please reach out to me. It would be my honor.

Thank you Debra! I enjoy reading your posts and I, too, need to step up my blog. I also always enjoy the music at the end of the post.

      Tim,
Her site was full of all manner of ideas for Christian bloggers. It was almost mind-boggling.
Bottom line is, I need to make sure my blog reflects my message. It started out as one thing,
but has evolved over the years. It’s time to clean house.
I’m glad you are blessed by the music. I have such varied musical tastes. I love everything
from Braham’s Requiem, in German, to the simplest of praise songs.
      Blessings,
      Debbie
