Word of the Year 2021 – Have You Chosen Yours?

I’m keeping this one short as there’s not much else that can be said about the year 2020 that hasn’t already been said. It was a challenging year in many ways. But, by the grace of God, here we are . . . about to welcome 2021.

In a post from a year or so ago, I talked about my lifetime word being hope. As we usher in 2021 my hope for you is that you will be blessed with the Peace of God that passes all understanding. That you will find joy in every single moment of your days. I pray your life will be filled with love and laughter and that God will pour out abundant blessings upon you and all those you love.

Many of my friends have chosen their word for this next year. The word that keeps showing up in things I see or read is still hope. Unless another word finds its way into my heart, hope will remain my word for this next year.

Have you chosen a word for 2021? How did you make that decision? Did you pray about it? Wait for God to show you? Share that with us if you will.

I leave you with this verse for this next year. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13 (ESV).

Happy New Year!

Blessings, y’all.

My 2020 word was also hope and boy was that appropriate! I chose relationships for 2021. I did pray about it but can’t necessarily say God told me to choose it. As I think about the coming year and what I hope for, I want to grow closer to God, as always, but I really want to build stronger community with others, especially readers and writers. Life is all about relationships. Everything else should follow that.

Deena, I certainly understand the need for relationships. They’re what keeps us going, as just a part of the human race, but also as writers. Thanks for reading. I appreciate you!
