In an Unholy Mess? Who You Gonna Call?
It had been going on for months, apparently. I was clueless and should have asked my number 3 son, the one who helps me with most of my computer tech issues. This one was a doozy!
Let me begin by saying, I should have taken notice when I saw my email list dwindling with each passing week. Frankly, I couldn’t figure out why. Most of my readers are like me and would call themselves Christian. Were they offended by something I said? Lord, forgive me if that is the case, I prayed.
Honestly, I don’t remember what prompted me to finally see the messages from my mail service. Had I been blinded to them? Had they sent messages as I began to post to my blog? Had I ignored those in my ignorance? I simply do not know.
WHAT AN UNHOLY MESS
Lord, please help me.
One day recently, I asked my son to look into this. He told me that several in my email list had been “hard bounced”. This means a permanent failure. They would no longer receive my blog posts or my newsletters, and it is in bad form to contact them personally to let them know.
What would I have said anyway? I didn’t understand all of this. I’m of a certain age and let me assure you I wasn’t born with a computer chip in my mouth. More like a dial telephone at best. And one on a party line at that. (Go ask your grandmother.)

My precious child came to my rescue today. He did all the things only a genius would know to do. He even went behind scenes into things that gave a warning—if you are not advanced in DNS (whatever that is) do not attempt to do this. He may have had some knowledge, but I didn’t get a sense that he was an expert. Yet, he dug until he figured it out. See? Genius!
He set up a new email for me based on my domain name. I will use it only for sending out my blog posts and newsletters and for nothing else. So don’t throw out my gmail address you currently use.
So, this is this week’s blog post. If you are one of the ones bounced, I am so, so sorry. If you still wish to receive my blog posts and newsletters, I’m so sorry but you will have to resubscribe. The space is on the homepage of my website DebraDuPreeWilliams.com If you got my post this last week, you will likely not have to do anything. And if you don’t wish to subscribe again, I fully understand. This has been frustrating to say the least.
CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD
This may seem like a post about my failures with tech stuff. It is, but is mostly a post about our merciful God. Who else will come to our rescue, time and time again? In the big and the trivial things. As you can see—I called upon the name of the Lord a few times during all this. Psalm 50: 15 (ESV) says And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me. He has all the answers to every question. We may not fully understand now, but one day we will.
Thank you so much for being faithful readers! Love to each of you!
Blessings, y’all!
Not my usual, but so fitting!! Enjoy. Don’t forget to clap your hands and tap your toes!! Praise His Holy Name!

The Conversation
I think most of the time God sets it up so we have to call on Him minute by minute to even make it through this life. Thanks for sharing your journey of how God responded to your call:) and the reminder… call on HIM!
So glad you got the issue resolved!
