I Know Who Holds Tomorrow

Can y’all believe it’s almost August? As of next month, many of us will have been home for five or six months. It seems crazy doesn’t it?

For us, the most difficult part has been in not being able to see our children. The one who lives nearest us made a point to come with some regularity. Out of concern for our and his own health, he hasn’t visited since Christmas. It’s the same with all four of our boys. Then top this with having not seen our granddaughters since Christmas, either. At this rate, they’ll be full-grown women next time. This Mama’s heart is about over it.

We’re fortunate that our lives were rather quiet anyway. We didn’t venture out without a reason, for the most part. When you get to be this age, that means you see your doctors much more often than you’d like. Yes. That’s us. We’re extremely thankful for video visits.

And we’re thankful for facetime. I’m not a huge fan of Facebook. I understand the need to stay connected, but it’s just one more distraction. I don’t do a lot on Twitter, rarely on IG, but FB seems to be the biggie with most people. Facetime is the best part of it, in my opinion.

As an author, having a presence on all those social media sites is mandatory. It’s how we connect with fans and let the world know what’s going on with our writing journey. For that, it’s been a blessing. But I don’t enjoy all the vitriol which is so rampant these days.

It’s difficult to stay neutral when most of us feel strongly one way or another. Just a simple like on something can cause a huge backlash from one side or the other. Sigh. Such crazy times we’re living in. Seems we can’t even be civil to one another these days.

As one of my sons said to me this week, I’m weary. At this point, I think most of us are. I’m tired of not getting to live my life on my terms. I’m tired of having to rely on someone else to choose my foods (curbside pickup of groceries). I’m so, so tired of not being able to hug my children. I’m tired of not being able to meet with our church home. That’s a big one for us as we had visited this church not long before the shutdown and knew this is where we wanted to move our membership. Now, we’re in limbo.

But, we’re thankful for online services. They have been a blessing. If you haven’t found an online church and you need to stay away for health reasons, I’d like to invite you to join us at Biltmore Church here in the Asheville area. It’s found online under that name. You may either live stream or go to their YouTube channel. We’re still in the book of Philippians with the study called The Gospel Changes Everything. You can even go back to the beginning of this study and see all the sermons. It has been so good. And you’ll be blessed by the music of the worship team, Biltmore Worship.

Know I pray for you every day. These are difficult days and it has been a long six months. But we know that God is still on His throne and sees things we cannot see. He has a plan for each and every single one of us. Just hold on to that and look toward the future, trusting that He holds all your tomorrows in His loving, capable hands.

Blessings, y’all!

I’ve included a couple of videos for you to check out. One is the song, “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow”. Scroll on down.  You’ll see Larry Ford here. There is a family connection here. My nephew and his wife and family (most of them) live in FL, and Larry Ford’s mother-in-law worships in the church where my nephew is a pastor. They’ve known the family for years. Miss Lessie, as Larry’s wife’s mother is known to all who know and love her, is a delight. When she prays, it is powerful! My nephew anointed his mother, my sister, and Miss Lessie laid hands on my precious sister, more than once since 2015 when Sis was first diagnosed with breast cancer. We, of course, give God the credit and the glory, but we know it was partly because of Miss Lessie’s prayers that pounded on the gates of Heaven that played a big part in Sis still being here with us. I hope you’re blessed by Larry’s beautiful voice. He’s Tennesee Ernie Ford’s grandson if I have my generations correct. Some of you will remember him, for sure.

The video just below here is Biltmore Church. I hope you’ll check it out, especially if you need a church home, online or otherwise. God bless you all.
