Happy Thanksgiving 2024

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you. We have a tradition of saying three things for which we are thankful when we gather around our table. This year, there will be fewer of us as some are sick and others are waiting for Christmas to come and visit.

Here is my list of those things for which I am most thankful. Let me urge each of you to make your own list. It doesn’t have to be long. Mine won’t be. Now mind you, it could be, but this is a day for sharing with friends and family, not reading lengthy blog posts.

ONE

I’m thankful for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Having a personal relationship with Him has made all the difference in my life here on earth. Because of His sacrifice for me, I know I will be spending all eternity in His presence, singing His praises, and glorifying Him. I pray I’ll see you there one day.

TWO

I’m thankful for my sweet husband. We’ve been married for 51 years. No, every day wasn’t total bliss. But with Jesus as the center of our lives, we’ve managed to keep our eyes and our hearts on things eternal and not dwell on earthly things. And we know to apologize when we’ve crossed any line that would bring hurt to our marriage. He keeps me focused on those things that are most important. I love you, J!

THREE

I’m thankful for our family. We love each of them with all our hearts and we thank God for blessing us with those four boys who are now grown men. And then, our girls came into our lives. The daughter-of-our-hearts and our precious two granddaughters were the icing on the cake. And I can’t leave out our six grand dogs: Akiba (Weenie), Charlie, Tone, Ollie, Blue, and Joey. They make life a lot more fun and interesting.

FOUR

I’m thankful to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. What a blessing it is to be a citizen of the USA. Yes, we’ve had our bad times, but the good ones far outweigh the bad. As long as we remember to love and respect one another, I think we could survive, intact for another 250 years or more as long as we remember our roots.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Right now, here in western North Carolina, I’m so thankful for all the people who’ve come to help those who have no means to help themselves after hurricane Helene blew through with such devastation. I’m thankful for those who’ve donated food, clothing, time, and money to help. It is so needed and will be for a long, long time.

And I’m thankful for you, my dear readers. Without you, there would be no more blog posts, or books from my heart to yours. You are so loved. I lift you up before the Lord today and pray He will pour forth abundant blessings upon each of you, now and forever. Here is a wonderful Scripture for today, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV, Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

So, what are you thankful for today? Feel free to tell us in the comment section. Again, Happy Thanksgiving!

Blessings, y’all!

We’ve sung a few anthems by Allen Pote. This is new to me. I hope it blesses you as you lift your hearts in thanks to God today and always.
