Becoming Better Than Normal
When I read or study something I think will benefit you, I like to share it with you. Yesterday, I finished a plan on the YouVersion Bible app called Better Than Normal.
Right at the start they define normal as: behavior that is typical, expected, and adjusts to a standard that society has put in place. I don’t know about you, but I think quite a few people failed to get this message or definition.
But this plan talks about becoming better than normal. As Christians, our normal isn’t anything like today’s world. And it shouldn’t be.
God holds us to a higher standard. Since the moment we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He came to dwell in us. And that should make a huge difference in us.
GOOD NEWS!
That doesn’t mean we aren’t human, that we won’t sin, but it does mean sin has become something we feel ill at ease with. But the good news is, we have a way to reconcile ourselves and lay that sin down through the Grace of God and the blood of Jesus.
Becoming Better Than Normal @DDuPreeWilliams #faith #writing Share on XThe Bible tells us, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 ESV).
What a promise. And anyone can claim it through Jesus and the work He did on the cross. I know this is all true and applies to each of us who has asked Jesus to be the Lord of our lives, but there are times when I struggle with the word righteousness as it defines me. Whew. That’s a big thought.
Me? Righteous?
ALL BECAUSE OF HIM
But that is who I am, and you are in Christ. That is supposed to be, or can be, my and your normal.
This plan shares ways for each of us to go beyond settling for normal but to become better than normal. I know you will enjoy reading and studying this and digging into God’s Word. Right now, the way the world is, so full of evil and darkness, we need all the better than normal we can get. This is a great starting place. Here is the link to that plan. https://bit.ly/4e7kArd

Thanks for your thoughts, Debbie. Yes, I’m made righteous by the blood of Jesus – and very grateful for forgiveness.
